“Elands Bay is also of
great archaeological
value. Excavations in a
big cave in the hangs
of the ‘Bobbejaansberg’,
showed that this area
was inhabited by
humans more than
15 000 years ago!”
Dining Out:
Vensterklip is located on the shores of Verlorenvlei about 5 minutes drive along the road from Ebay to Redelingshuys. It has a bird hide and a great little bar with DSTV for catching the currie cup. Their farm restaurant, the Tin Kitchen, does wholesome food and will cater for outside guests with a prior reservation – Tel: 022 972 1340

The Elands Bay Hotel may be stuck in the 80’s but it does a half decent steak and chips and has a great sundowner view. Their bottle store also stocks Rooidop, the local dodgy red.

Muisboskerm is an open air restaurant with walls built from the local scrub (mousebush). It overlooks the sea on the way to Lamberts Bay. They do a seafood buffet with traditional accompaniments at set lunch and dinner times and booking is essential – Tel: 027 432 1017 / Mob: 083 270 9530
